Our Diploma in Personal Training combines the Level 2 & 3 qualifications you need to become a gym instructor and certified PT.This CIMSPA-endorsed course is the perfect foundation for your exciting new career in the fitness industry.

 

We deliver our courses over 12 weeks and we offer classroom/gym based training, online learning, or a mix of the two.

What makes us unique? Well, we love to partake in group discussions, this is a great way of bringing different ideas and methods to the table. It's great fun, and you'll meet some new faces and gain confidence as you go.As mentioned above, our classes are held in a well-equipped private gym, giving you access to the equipment you'll see and use on your fitness journey, this is great for hands on practical learning, assessments, or when planning client workouts.

 

Not only do you have the backing of our partnership with various UK colleges, you'll also have a dedicated tutor, a student helpline and your very own student support assistant, who can help you with finding employment, furthering your studies or CV building.

Level 3 Personal Training Course
In order to become a fully qualified personal trainer in the fitness industry you need a Level 2 Fitness Instructing and also a Level 3 Personal Training Diploma. We offer both courses which are run side by side meaning you can save time and get qualified in as little as 12 weeks, the courses will cover all the aspects you will need to know and gain a deep understanding of anatomy, nutrition, human fitness and the positive attitude in order to motivate clients to achieve the best possible results, The course will cover the following helping you to become the best possible PT you can be.

​Anatomy & Physiology for Exercise

​A good understanding of anatomy and physiology will allow the personal trainer to appreciate the demands placed on the body during exercise and more general physical activity.
This awareness will help the trainer to design a comprehensive and effective personal training programme.

By Completing this unit you will:
 
  • ​Understand the heart and circulatory system and its relation to exercise and health.
  • Understand the musculoskeletal system and its relation to exercise.
  • Understand postural and core stability.
  • Understand the nervous system and its relation to exercise.
  • Understand the endocrine system and its relation to exercise and health.
  • Understand the energy systems and their relation to exercise


​Applying The Principles Of Nutrition To A Physical Activity Programme

To provide the learner with the knowledge and ability to apply the principles of nutrition and nationally recommended nutritional practice to support client goals as part of an exercise and physical activity programme.

By Completing this unit you will:

 
  • Understand the principles of nutrition.
  • Understand key guidelines in relation to nutrition.
  • Understand nationally recommended practices in relation to providing nutritional support.
  • Understand the relationship between nutrition and physical activity.
  • Understand how to collect information relating to nutrition.
  • Understand how to use nutritional information.
  • Understand the principles of nutritional goal setting with clients.
  • Be able to collect and analyse nutritional information.
  • Be able to apply the principles of nutrition to a physical activity programme


​Programming Personal Training With Clients

​Personal trainers must have the knowledge and skills to gather relevant information from their clients to plan individualised programmes that achieve specific client goals and objectives.
They must understand how and when to review programmes with clients and how to adapt programmes and goals to continue to meet client needs.

At the end of this unit, you will:
 
  • Understand how to prepare personal training programmes.
  • Understand the importance of long-term behaviour change for personal training
  • Understand the principles of collecting information to plan a personal training programme.
  • Understand how to screen clients prior to a personal training programme.
  • Understand how to identify personal training goals with clients.
  • Understand how to plan a personal training programme with client
  • Understand how to adapt a personal training programme with clients.
  • Be able to collect information about clients.
  • Be able to agree on goals with clients.
  • Be able to plan a personal training programme with clients
  • Be able to manage a personal training programme
  • Be able to review progress with clients.
  • Be able to adapt a personal training programme with clients


Delivering Personal Training Sessions 

​Delivering personal training sessions to single clients and small groups of clients is a major aspect of the personal trainer role.
Personal trainers must understand how to use their skills to motivate their clients and instruct the different styles of programme they design.
They must also understand how to adapt their instructional skills and certain exercises, in order to accommodate different clients’ needs and acclimatise to different environments.

At the end of this unit, you will:
 
  • ​Understand how to instruct exercise during personal training sessions.
  • Understand how to adapt exercise to meet client needs during personal training sessions.
  • Understand how to review personal training sessions with clients.
  • Be able to plan and prepare personal training sessions.
  • Be able to prepare clients for personal training sessions.
  • Be able to instruct and adapt planned exercises.
  • Be able to bring exercise sessions to an end.
  • Be able to reflect on providing personal training sessions

What happens at the end of my course?

Don't panic there are no exams!

No tests, No final exam, we offer a truly unique way of assessing our clients making sure the process is engaging and fun. which is why they include a variety of methods to help students, from online home-based workbooks to online practical assessment and assessment days. When you progress through the modules, you will be able to either attend our training facility based in County Durham or submit your assessment videos online.
Here's the assessments that you will take
 
Level 3 Personal Trainer Diploma (UK) Assessments
 
  • Anatomy Physiology for Exercise and Health - Workbooks and participation  
  • Applying the principles of nutrition to a physical activity program - Workbooks and participation 
  • Delivering Personal Training sessions  - Workbook, practical in a venue or video submissions
  • Programming Personal Training with Clients - Workbook, practical in a venue or video submissions.
Once completed, your official certificate will be provided by the relevant awarding body, this can take around 6 weeks.
You are free to find work during this time,  just ask us for a status of completion and confirmation email (employers will ask for this during the interview process)
It is worth pointing out that personal trainers must also have their own insurance (unless covered by your employer's policy)​​
You'll be equipped with all your need to know by the end of your course, plus we are only a call away for any help you may need once you've started your fitness journey.
