Our Diploma in Personal Training combines the level 2 & 3 qualifications you need to become a gym instructor and certified PT.
This CIMSPA-endorsed course is the perfect foundation for your exciting new career in the fitness industry.

We deliver our courses over 12 weeks and we offer classroom/gym based training, online learning, or a mix of the two.

As mentioned above, our classes are held in a well-equipped private gym, giving you access to the equipment you'll see and use on your fitness journey, this is great for hands on practical learning, assessments, or when planning client workouts.

Level 2 Fitness Instructing​

In order to become a fully qualified personal trainer in the fitness industry you need a Level 2 Fitness Instructing and also a Level 3 Personal Training Diploma. We offer both courses which are run side by side meaning you can save time and get qualified in as little as 12 weeks, the courses will cover all of the aspects you will need to know and gain a deep understanding of anatomy, nutrition, human fitness and the positive attitude in order to motivate clients to achieve the best possible results.

​Anatomy & Physiology for Exercise

​A basic understanding of anatomy and physiology in relation to exercise is essential foundation knowledge for all fitness instructing disciplines.
Exercise affects all body systems. An understanding of the benefits of exercise and the demands it places on the body will help with the programming of safe and effective exercise. 
By completing this unit you will:

 
  • Understand the structure and function of the skeleton.
  • Understand joints in the skeleton.
  • Understand the muscular system.
  • Understand the nervous system and its relation to exercise.
  • Understand the structure and function of the respiratory system.
  • Understand the structure and function of the circulatory system.
  • Understand energy systems and their relation to exercise.
  • Understand the life course of the musculoskeletal system and its implications for special populations' exercise

Supporting Clients Who Take Part In Exercise and Physical Activity

Knowing how to support clients is essential for promoting their long-term commitment to exercise and physical activity.
Building an effective working relationship, communicating effectively, understanding client barriers and exploring strategies to overcome them are integral to providing the ongoing support and customer care needed to ensure commitment to any exercise or physical activity programme.

​Health, Safety & Welfare In The Fitness Environment

Health and safety are of prime importance in every industry. In a fitness environment, all staff need to know the organisation’s health and safety policies, risk management strategies and emergency procedures.
They should also understand their responsibilities and limitations with regard to their duty of care and the welfare interests of themselves, their colleagues and clients, which can include children and vulnerable adults.

Knowledge of the components of fitness, the effects that exercise has on the body, the training variables for programme design and methods for monitoring intensity will enable the fitness instructor to design safe and effective exercises for a range of clients.
